# Maximize Happiness by Managing Money

I heard two new great phrases pertaining to money this week. The first was “***living below your means***” which I wrote about in a **[previous blogpost](http://spiritusfinancial.com/blog/bid/80245/Living-Below-Your-Means-is-Key-to-a-Successful-Retirement)** after hearing Suze Orman promoting her new [**Money Class**](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=56u64LMT-9c). Living within ones means is now a common phrase, but ***below ***ones means? – now that’s a concept that I truly hope goes viral. 

The second phrase appeared in an article one of my favorite clients, Eddie M sent me – the phrase is *“time affluent.”*

How beautiful is that?  With words like “*A new level of mindfulness*” and “*a renewed level of attention to finances*”, this article on money and happiness is one of the best I’ve read.

I wished I had written the article **[Managing Money To Maximize Happiness](http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/29/money-happiness_n_1118863.html)** myself, but [**Laura Rowley**](http://www.moneyandhappiness.com/about.htm) beat me to it. I haven’t yet read her book, **[Money & Happiness](http://www.moneyandhappiness.com/index.html)**, but I’m guessing it’s a winner.

What both phrases, both books and both authors have in common are the desire and need to spread the word for all of us to begin developing a [**better relationship with our money**](http://spiritusfinancial.com/blog/bid/65609/5-Essential-Questions-That-Transform-Your-Relationship-with-Money).
