Having Enough for Life

Thursday, January 14th, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

FrogSong Common House

To have enough for life you need to understand three things:

  • What is money?
  • What makes you happy?
  • How do you know how much is enough?

To hear answers to these questions may be useful. To learn tools to investigate these questions for yourself is precious beyond measure.  You’ll get both in this lively two hour program.

Vicki will present the Your Money or Your Life systems-approach to staying at that Goldilocks pinnacle of satisfaction: ”not too little, not too much, but just right.” We enter the stress of excess because we are afraid of having nothing.  We do too much because we are afraid of not measuring up. We scurry around from meeting to meeting because we fear insignificance. We say yes when we want to say no because we fear being excluded. We pursue ever ”more” because we don’t know how much is “enough”.

Our relationship with money, time, food and things all transform as we see clearly and with warm detachment what we are doing – and why – and whether our behavior is getting us what we really want.  Vicki’s awareness practices and the daily life experiments peel back the clutter and confusion around money, time, food and things so you can choose again. And again.

Through lecture, small group conversations, whole group discussion, comedy and question and answer Vicki will present the core of the 9-step program in Your Money or Your Life which applies as well to time, food, stuff,  busyness and automatic behavior of every sort.

As a founder of Transition Whidbey and a board member of Transition US, Vicki will relate these personal tools to the community resilience movement.
